A Lamentation For Haiti

Like a tree you have been violently shaken and littered now on the grounds of Port-au-Prince are the aftermath. We see your fruits scattered, bruised, crushed, decaying and your branches cut off. Your streets are strewn with hopeless wanderings and brokenness too shocked to cry out!
In you and in the nations of the world, are stifled voices of WHY. Why Haiti?
My tears flow freely for you, and I raise a lamentation for Haiti.
Haiti, oh Haiti; the oldest republic formed by people of African ancestry. In the family of Black Republics, you are the first born. You should have been a beacon of light for people of color, but you have always been in the news for the wrong reasons.

You have remained a receiver nation despite over 200 years of independence. Your brothers have excelled in sports, politics, science and in education but you have not matched them. Like Reuben the first born of Israel, you have not excelled.

Our tears flow with yours in this time of pain. Let all the anointed rise up to speak like Moses spoke to Reuben when he(Moses) cried out in prayer to JEHOVAH over the smallness of Israel's firstborn in Deuteronomy 33:6. Let us cry out and say; "Let Haiti live and not die, and let not his people be few".
Haiti, you have not excelled as the first born of black republics, but the prophets are saying, "live Haiti, live and not die. Be no longer poor Haiti, but rather flourish by God the creator of heaven and earth. Let not your people be few" and let the Sun of Righteousness arise over you with healing in His wings".

  2. We pray you Breath of God, sweep prophetically through the nooks and cranny of Port-au-prince and let the inhabitants like grass be violently shaken and captivated by the Spirit of grace. May they be restored, renewed and empowered to sing a new song! For you said, you shall do a new thing and it shall spring forth. Let the dry bones come alive and march now on those same blood-stained grounds and say Our God reigns! Father,we intercede and pray for Port-au-Prince and call her by name. We remember and thank you for the Speakings of the blood of Jesus over the land and its people. We thank you again for the cross.

Awake,O north wind,And come O south! Blow upon Port-au-prince and its inhabitants, that her spices may flow out. so that the bones that 'you have broken' may rejoice.(SOS 4:16 & Ps 51:8).

  4. A very touching lamentation, just like David's for Jonathan. Mortals will always ask God, why, why, but JEHOVAH, who knows where all the pillars of the earth are located is never absent. As we ride our boats in the storms of life HE is riding with us. Haiti will live and not die. And the souls of the departed shall rest in eternal peace. Amen.

  7. God bless you Oliver for sharing a Word inspired by God. You helped answer some questions I had about the Nation of Haiti. I am in agreement with you that those of us who God has made free must do our part to help our brothers and sisters in Haiti experience the liberty that comes only through Chrsit Jesus.
